Events created in the Opportunities menu can be meetings, phone calls, reminders, or anything else users want to track on their calendar.
When creating an Event, users are prompted to select a Type. These Event Types can be customized in the Configuration menu. Follow the instructions in this article to create and update Event Types.
1. Add an Event Type
New Event Types appear in the Type dropdown when creating an Event in the Opportunities menu.
Steps:
From the Configuration menu, select Event Types (under the Opportunities heading).
Click the New (+) icon.
Enter a Description for the Event Type.
(Optional) Set the Default Reminder in minutes.
Click Save.
2. Edit or Delete an Event Type
Once Event Types have been created, you can modify or remove them from the Configuration menu.
Edit: You can change the Description or Default Reminder of any Event Type.
Delete: If the Event Type has not been used on any Event, you can delete it permanently.
Inactivate: If the Event Type has already been used on an Event, it cannot be deleted. Instead, edit it and mark it as Inactive. It will no longer be available when creating new Events, but existing Events will not be affected.
Steps:
From the Configuration menu, select Event Types (under the Opportunities heading).
Locate the Event Type in the list.
Click the tools icon.
Click Edit to modify the Description or Default Reminder, or to mark the Event Type as Inactive, and then click Save.
Click Delete to remove the Event Type permanently. This option is grayed out if the Event Type is in use; inactivate it instead.
