The Equipment section of RedTeam allows you to track and manage any and all equipment that is assigned, rented, returned, etc.

The Equipment section of RedTeam allows you to track and manage any and all equipment that is assigned, rented, returned, etc. Keeping good internal records of your equipment will keep you organized and keep employees accountable for their equipment assignments. When an Equipment item is created in RedTeam, it is listed in a pre-determined category. Common categories might include computers, vehicles, cell phones, printers, rental machinery, etc. To configure these categories, follow the instructions in this Wiki.


1. Add an Equipment Category

The Equipment menu of RedTeam allows you to track and manage any and all Equipment your company uses.* Keeping good internal records of your equipment will keep you organized and keep Employees accountable for their Equipment assigned to them.

When an Equipment item is created in RedTeam, you are required to select an Equipment Category (eg. machinery, computers, vehicles, tools, etc.). This Category will not only organize your Equipment into a general group, but it also determines how the cost is allocated for the Equipment Item once it has been assigned to an Employee (and in some cases, a Project). This is determined by the Cost Pool that the Equipment Category is linked to (for details on creating a Cost Pool, see the "Add a New Cost Pool" Wiki).

Steps:

  1. From Configuration, locate "Equipment Categories" (under the heading: Equipment).

  2. Click the New (+) icon.

  3. Enter a Description for the Equipment Category.

  4. Select a Cost Pool this Equipment Category will be linked to (this will determine the cost allocation for any Equipment Items linked to this Category).

  5. Click "Save".


2. Edit or Delete an Equipment Category

Once Equipment Categories have been created, you can modify or remove them in the Configuration menu.

To modify the Description or Cost Pool associated to the Labor Category, you can click Edit from the tools icon and make the changes.

To remove an Equipment Category that has not been associated with an Equipment item, you can click Delete from the tools icon and it will be removed permanently.

To remove an Equipment Category that has been associated with an Equipment item, you can click Edit from the tools icon and make it Inactive and it will no longer be available to be used when creating new Equipment items in the Equipment menu.

Steps:

  1. From Configuration, locate "Equipment Categories" (under the heading: Equipment).

  2. Locate the category in the list of equipment categories.

  3. Click the tools icon.

  4. Click "Edit" to modify the Description or Cost Pool for the Equipment Category, or to make it Inactive.

  5. Click "Delete" to remove the Equipment Category permanently (option grayed out if in use, inactivate instead).
