RedTeam Flex - Manage Contract Employees

RedTeam allows users to manage their employees by creating user profiles in the application.

Updated over a year ago

RedTeam allows users to manage their employees by creating user profiles in the application, but not every employee is the same. Sometimes, companies use professional employer organizations (PEO), staff leasing companies which allow your business to outsource employee management and hire people under a contract basis. To account for these kinds of employees, RedTeam lets you select "Contract (Exempt)" or "Contract (Non-Exempt)" from the employment type dropdown when creating a new employee profile. When a "Contract" employee type is selected, you will also select the Contract Payee company from the dropdown. You will also need to select an appropriate Role for your contract employee. If no Role exists, ask your System Administrator to create one for you.

1. Configure Staff Leasing

Staff Leasing in the Configuration menu is where you will set up companies that act as Contract Payee's for Contract Employees. Examples of such companies are temporary labor services, such as Labor Ready or PeopleReady.

Once a Vendor has been Configured here, they will appear in the Contract Payee dropdown when creating a new Employee.

Steps:

  1. From the Configuration menu, click "Staff Leasing" (under the heading: Accounting).

  2. Click the New (+) icon.

  3. Select the Staff Leasing company from the dropdown.

  4. If the company is not listed in the dropdown, you will need to select "+ Add New" to create it as a Vendor (first option in the dropdown).

  5. Once the company is selected, click "Save".

2. Add a New Contract Employee

For employees slected as Non-Exempt RedTeam supports the federal calculation for overtime premiums which is hours in excess of 40 working hours in any given week. Overtime pay will be calculated as the Employee Rate x 1.5.
