Add a Manual Job Cost Transaction

From time to time you may wish to add a transaction that will affect the actual job costs for your project, but that does not fit any of the traditional job cost documents you can enter within the project. Entering a manual job cost transaction can ensure that extraneous costs are reflected in the actual column of your project budget. This can also be a good way to enter historical costs incurred on the project if you created the project in RedTeam while it was already in progress.

See the steps below to add a transaction manually to the actual column of your project budget.

Steps:

  • From the Transactions Menu, click the New (+) Icon

  • Select the project and scope from the drop down menus, then fill in the applicable information for the transaction. All fields with an orange asterisk must be completed.

  • Click "Save" when finished or "Save & New" to add another transaction

  • OR select the "Import Job Cost Transactions" option to import multiple transactions from an Excel or Numbers template.

  • Use the dropdown to select and download the appropriate template for your computer, then enter transaction data into the template.

  • Once you have placed all transactions you wish to upload into the spreadsheet, select and copy all rows except the headings.

  • Paste the copied data into the text box within RedTeam and click "Upload"

  • RedTeam will highlight any data it does not recognize; double click all highlighted data to correct it.

  • Once all data is validated, click "Save" to complete the upload of the transactions
